Would you like the opportunity to discover the cities where some famous artists were born and go to a concert or to the opera. This is your chance to do so.

 

Main destinations: Brescia, Bergamo, Parma, Cremona, Milano, Verona.

 

 

Day 1

 

Arrival in Brescia. Lunch in a selected restaurant. In the afternoon a local guide will lead a guided tour of the city: you will visit the the Romanesque Old Cathedral, the Castle and the museum of Santa Giulia housed in a monastery built in 753 according to the wish of the Langobard king Desiderius. It is composed of three churches: Santa Giulia, San Salvatore and Santa Maria in Solario. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

 

Day 2

 

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Bergamo, Donizetti's town. Guided visit to the main monuments: Palazzo della Ragione, Santa Maria Maggiore church with the reknown "Cappella Colleoni" and the museum devoted to Donizetti. In the afternoon a steam train will lead you to Sarnico on the lake of Iseo. Trasfer to Brescia. Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel  in Brescia.

 

Day 3

 

Breakfast in hotel. In the morning you will visit Cremona, where you will admire the Ponchielli theatre, the Town Hall Square with the famous Torrazzo, a high bell tower built in 1267 that has become the symbol of the city; the Dome one of the best examples of Lombard Romanesque architecture, The Stradivari Museum that displays manuscripts of Ponchielli, tools used by Stradivari and documents about the protagonists of the musical tradition of the city. Lunch in a selected restaurant. In the afternoon, sail along the Po River. Transfer back to Brescia. Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel.

Alternatively, visit to some gardens in the sourrounding of Cremona or visit to a medieval village.

 

Day 4

 

Transfer to Parma. A guided tour or Parma will introduce you to the city's artistic treasures: the famous Teatro Farnese, housed inside the "Palazzo della Pilotta" official residence of the Farnese Family, the 12th century Romanesque Dome and its Baptistery that contains pieces of work of the sculptor Benedetto Antelami, and the church of San Giovanni Evangelista with works of Correggio. Lunch in a selected restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to the little town of Busseto, where, following in the steps of the composer Giuseppe Verdi, you will visit the house of his backer Barenzi, the theatre where he presented his works, Palazzo Orlandi and Villa Sant'Agata where he dwelt and composed his masterpieces: Trovatore, Aida, Rigoletto, Stiffelio, etc.

Dinner and overnight stay in your hotel in Brescia.

 

Day 5

A short drive will lead you to Milan where you will visit with an expert guide the very famous Duomo, the Theatre "alla Scala", The Castello Sforzesco, the magnificent basilicas of Saint Ambrose and Saint Eustorgio. Lunch in a selected restaurant. In the late afternoon, transfer back to Brescia.

 

Day 6

Today will be dedicated to Verona. At your arrival a guide wil lead you through the Dome, Piazza Bra and its famous Arena, Piazza delle Erbe and the town centre, with the famous Romeo and Juliet's balcony. Lunch in a selected restaurant. In the afternoon stop in Sirmione, the reknown peninsula on the lake of Garda, famous for the roman villa so called "Grotte di Catullo". Then you will be given the chance to taste the Lugana wine in a typical wine cellar.

Dinner and overnight stay in Brescia.
