In the months where no art exhibition is taking place the second day programme will include a guided visit of the town, while the fifth day will include a visit to the Museum of Millemiglia, dedicated to the historical cars that still compete in the race called "Millemiglia" and to a butter and cheese factory.

 

Day 1

 

In the morning arrival at the airport, transfer to Brescia and lunch.

 

In the afternoon, start exploring Brescia and its art treasures. You will visit the churches of S. Nazaro and Celso and San Giovanni, the Romanesque Cathedral and the Roman ruins. This introductory walk through the streets of the city will help you understand and enjoy the wonderful pieces of art that you will admire during the following days.

Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 2

 

Visit to Santa Giulia, museum complex housed in a monastery built in 753 according to the wish of the Langobard king Desiderius. It is composed of three churches: Santa Giulia, San Salvatore and Santa Maria in Solario. An expert guide will lead you through the exhibition dedicated to "Tiziano" and the paintings of the 16th century in Venice, where you will admire the paintings of the great artist that belong to the Collection of the Louvre Museum.

 

Lunch in a typical restaurant.

In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to Franciacorta. Visit the Pieve Vecchia in Gussago, the church of Avello in Ome and the ancient Hammer of the Averoldis, that pounded iron and steel till a few decades ago.An alternative excursion could be the visit to the castle of Bornato and the Pieve of Sant'Eufemia in Erbusco.

Dinner in a typical Franciacorta Cantina, where you will sample the local cuisine and the excuisite wine that they produce and export in the whole world.

 

Day 3

 

In the morning join the excursion to the "Olivetana Abbey" and "Santa Maria della Neve", ancient churches frescoed by Romanino, a Tiziano contemporary painter. Lunch will be served in a typical restaurant where you will taste the local cuisine.

In the afternoon continue your tour with the visit to the church of San Pietro in Lamosa in Provaglio di Iseo, where you will admire the suggestive landscape of the Torbiere: humid soil near the lake, where rare birds build their nests and unusual vegetal species can be observed.

Next, stop at Franciacorta Outlet village, a heaven for shoppers, where you can buy designer clothes and accessories at convenient prices.

Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 4

 

Short drive to Verolanuova, the town of the Gambara Family, where you will admire the paintings of Tiepolo and Celesti in the Church of San Lorenzo, and Palazzo Gambara, now converted in Town Hall.

Lunch in a typical restaurant.

In the afternoon discover Soncino and visit the city's fortress, Casa Stampatori the first Jewish printing house in Italy, and the magnificent church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, made of fired bricks according to the style of the architect Bramante.

Day 5

 

In the morning, enjoy a guided visit to the Art Exhibition dedicated to the Impressionist Painting called "Monet, the Seine and the Water Lilies" , where you will revive the emotions that inspired the painters while creating such wonderful masterpieces.

Lunch in your hotel's restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the iron mines of Valtrompia, the industrious valley worldwide famous for the production of weapons.

Dinner and overnight stay

 

Day 6 

 

Today's guided tour takes you to the wonderful Lake of Garda. Get aboard the ferry and sail along the western shore of the biggest sea in Italy. Visit the charming little town of Sal? and its impressive Dome, Gardone Riviera with the famous Vittoriale, house museum of the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio and in the end enjoy the atmosphere of the wonderful peninsula of Sirmione.

Time at your leisure to have lunch

 

An alternative choice could be a visit to the Vittoriale, to the Isola Garda  and to the lemon tree cultivations, that represented an important source of income for the local populations that sold the lemons to the courts of northern Italy.
